A New Age to Remember

Lately my boys are returning home via grand-master grandpa after their weekly taekwondo classes. In his recent recovery, my father has taken renewed interest in ensuring his grandsons’ takeaway some impressions of his heritage.

Last week, upon their return, my eldest was reminded to tackle his social studies project which conveniently requested the family’s ethnic origin, and purpose of immigration. I should’ve delayed my father’s exit before my husband volunteered to provide his answer. He was only an infant of 2 yrs when he was transported to this country.

We’ve come full circle from when our parents had experienced true Liberalism as guided by Pierre Trudeau and now as our children are inquiring about the meaning and importance in the new age of Trudeau once again. It’s important to remember the struggle, sacrifice, hardship and love that has built this colorful quilt we live today. It's important to hear that story.
