Language and Understanding thru the ARTS

We may speak the same language but not necessarily do we understand each other because sometimes what we’re really saying is masking the truth that lays buried deep within; or the perspective is blurred by the vantage point; or just all is lost in translation.
The artists were required to submit a 5min piece for participation in this multicultural program. Korea asked for an exception to an approximately 7min long performance. The finalized program schedule marked this piece as 7minutes total when in fact it was exactly 7.37. The argument here was that the program director reviewed all the pieces and the music was definitely only 7minutes long…

She didn’t hear the silent heartbeat, the delayed syncopation and the controlled tempo all within the body. All the slightest nuances reflecting the majestic oriole was executed in a 1metre square format. Thank you for the education 백미애선생님!
